Sergeant Anton Kryl, known by the callsign “Tasman,” was killed on May 14, 2022, at Azovstal in Mariupol. He was 22 years old.
Anton was born in the village of Lebedynske in Mariupol district. From an early age, he loved machinery and automobiles. By the age of nine, he could already disassemble and reassemble a motorcycle on his own. He was athletic, quick-witted, and enjoyed Harry Potter films. He graduated from Mariupol Vocational Lyceum No. 52, where he trained as an auto mechanic.
In 2016, Anton joined the Azov Civil Corps. He trained extensively and dreamed of military service. In 2018, he completed a young fighter training course and was assigned to a howitzer artillery division. Later, he served as a communications specialist in the artillery unit, carrying out combat missions in the Svitlodarsk salient. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he took part in the defense of Mariupol.
His brothers-in-arms remember Anton as a strong, cheerful, and dependable warrior who never complained and was always ready to support others.
Anton is survived by his brother.
