In the run-up to Easter, the humanitarian hubs and centers established for residents of the Donetsk region in safe areas of Ukraine organized a wide variety of creative workshops, entertainment, and fun games for children and adults, all of which helped create a festive atmosphere.

Numerous workshops on making pysanky, chicks, bunnies, and wreaths became a real celebration for the little artists, bringing them joy and happy moments of creativity. The children immersed themselves in the traditions of Ukrainian Easter egg painting, learned about the symbolism of the patterns, and tried their hand at creating their own masterpieces.

Unique Easter cards made using the iris folding technique are a magical combination of paper and color, infused with bright hues, warmth, and a springtime atmosphere.

The themed photo zones featuring Easter trees, giant Easter cakes, art-decorated eggs, and festive arrangements provide visitors to the hubs with vivid emotions and memories, uniting everyone with the warmth and spirit of the holiday.

Decorating young trees for Easter with incredible pysanky and garlands is a long-standing tradition of the residents of the Bakhmut community, following which Bakhmut’s pysanky gardens have blossomed across the country. Every decoration on the tree is a piece of the soul, memories, and faith—a symbol of resilience, unity, and hope.

The preparation and decoration of Easter cakes will remain unforgettable, as event participants delved into the secrets of the art of baking, shared recipes, and learned the secret to perfect dough.

Entertainment and interactive events, art workshops such as “The Light of Easter,” “Easter Bells,” “Along the Paths of Spring: Toward Easter,” “Easter Celebration,” “Journey to the Easter Basket,” “Colorful Easter Eggs Celebrate Easter,” “Easter Is Near,” “Easter for Children,” “Easter Bells,” and “Easter Pysanka” with themed lectures, games, quests, and creative activities brought children and adults together, creating a cheerful atmosphere, genuine smiles, and positive emotions.

During the engaging lectures “Easter Joy,” “Easter: Traditions and Interesting Facts in Ukraine and Around the World,” and “Rituals That Unite Generations,” children learned about Easter traditions, discovered its history and significance, and viewed educational presentations.

Exhibitions of children’s crafts titled “Easter Miracle – Creating an Easter Symbol” and “Easter Fantasies” became true hubs of children’s imagination and sincere feelings.

Folklore sessions titled “Oh, Pysanka, You Are a Symbol of Ukraine” and “The History of the Holiday and Traditions of Celebrating Easter” opened up the wonderful world of Ukrainian Easter traditions to those present and took them on a journey into the world of pysanka art.

Thanks to the compassion, unity, and kindness of the residents of Donetsk Oblast, Easter gifts were collected for our defenders and sent to military units.

At Easter, everyone unites for peace in Ukraine, and the folk amulets created are a manifestation of our shared strength and respect for our people’s cultural heritage.
