Strong in spirit: how a war veteran set up his workplace with the support of the employment service

Published 18 June 2025 year, 14:50

Every veteran's story is a tale of willpower and hope for a new life. Yevhen Peschansky's story is just that. It is about how, after the front, it is possible to become part of peaceful life again, find yourself, and help others. And most importantly, how timely support can change everything.

Yevhen is a combat veteran who went through the hell of war in Donetsk Oblast in 2022. After a serious injury and lengthy rehabilitation, he returned to his native Kramatorsk. Instead of despair, he chose the path of development. It was not easy for him: his spinal injury changed his usual rhythm of life, but did not break his spirit.

Becoming an entrepreneur was his conscious decision. Yevheniy was looking for opportunities to be useful and fulfill himself — and found support from employment service specialists. They advised him to take advantage of a state program that compensates for the costs of equipping a workplace for a person with a disability.

“I wanted not just to work, but to work comfortably. I needed equipment that took my needs into account,” says Yevhenii.

Thanks to the compensation, he purchased computer hardware and software, which allowed him to create an adapted, modern workplace right at home.

“This is not just technology, it is an opportunity to be independent, do what I love, and develop. And I am sincerely grateful to the employment service for their support,” says the veteran.

Yevhen actively cooperates with public organizations, in particular with the Community Development Fund. He participates in projects aimed at developing the Kramatorsk community. His experience is valuable, his story is motivating.
