"Traditions that unite": a cultural initiative of the Siverska and Dubrynitsko-Malobereznyanska communities

Published 16 July 2025 year, 15:55

Within the framework of the National project "Shoulder to Shoulder: United Communities," cooperation has begun between the Siverska community of the Donetsk region and the Dubrynitsko-Malobereznyanska community of the Transcarpathian region in creating a new online initiative – "Traditions that Unite," aimed at developing and preserving the cultural heritage of the communities.

What is "Traditions that Unite"?

This is a cultural space that brings people together around shared values, family memory, and national identity. The project is aimed at preserving unique customs, rituals, songs, crafts, family stories, and cultural features that are passed down from generation to generation.

How to get involved?

Everyone is invited to share their own "treasures" of family and community memory:

  • ancient recipes and culinary traditions;
  • wedding, household, and ritual customs;
  • archival photos, videos, and family memories;
  • authentic songs, legends, proverbs;
  • examples of local crafts – embroidery, pottery, wood carving, weaving, etc.

Where to find and publish?

Materials can be viewed and published on the Facebook pages:

Why is this important?

Preserving cultural heritage is not just a matter of the past. It is also a bridge to the future, helping to form a united, strong community. Every memory, every tradition is a piece of the great mosaic of our historical memory.

Let what unites us in culture be the foundation for a shared future. Let’s preserve together the traditions that inspire!
