On May 28, a meeting dedicated to the issues of social protection for veterans, their family members, and the families of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine took place in the Bilozersk community.
The event was attended by the head of the Department of Veteran Policy of the regional state administration, Artur Nasibyan, the deputy head of the Pokrovsk district state administration, Oleksandr Fomenko, the head of the Bilozersk Military Administration, Serhiy Makeyev, representatives of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities, and the Pokrovsk branch of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center.
During the discussion, key areas of state and regional support for the veteran community were outlined: pension provision, housing and communal benefits, programs for the rehabilitation of veterans' children, opportunities for professional retraining, employment, social adaptation, and access to prosthetics. Special attention was paid to the activities planned within the framework of the Bilozersk community's Veteran Support Program for 2025.
Among the additional topics raised by the participants were issues regarding the procedure for providing housing subsidies and ensuring the right of veterans and the families of the fallen to free travel.
