A mini-football tournament, the "Cup in Memory of Hero of Ukraine Oleg Adamovsky," was held in Dnipro. Adamovsky was a resident of the Velykonovosilkovsk community who devoted 13 years of his life to defending Ukraine and died covering his comrades during the defense of Kharkiv in 2022.
The tournament was held on the initiative of the Velykonovosilkovskyi settlement military administration and with the participation of representatives of the regional state administration's department for veteran policy and the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support.
The grand opening of the tournament began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a minute of silence in memory of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine.
Three teams took part in the tournament:
- the Velykonovosilkovskyi community team;
- the Makstroy FC team;
- the Donetsk OTZK and SP team.
According to the results of the competition, the winner was the Makstroy FC team. Second place went to the Velykonovosilkovskaya community team, and third place went to the Donetsk OTZK and SP team.
All participants and winners of the tournament were awarded medals, prizes, and commemorative gifts from the Velykonovosilkovskaya village military administration. The most active players and fans of the competition received special awards — they were presented with soccer balls from the Kharkiv Regional Soccer Association.
The "Memorial Cup of Hero of Ukraine Oleg Adamovsky" tournament will now be held annually. The event has become an important symbol of gratitude and honor to the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
