On Healthcare Worker's Day, the jubilee Order of Saint Panteleimon award ceremony took place. The award is a professional distinction recognizing dedication to serving people and outstanding contributions to medicine. This year's ceremony brought together Ukraine's medical community and representatives from 23 partner countries.
The Donetsk region was represented by a delegation led by Olena Marchenko, Director of the Healthcare Department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration. Three nominees from the region reached the final stage of the competition.
Dmytro Uzun, Head of the Cardiac and Endovascular Surgery Department at the Regional Intensive Care Hospital, won the "Best Doctor – Standard of the Profession" award.
In the "Fortress of Health" category, the staff of the Sloviansk Central District Hospital received recognition.
The honorary "Proslava" distinction was awarded to Captain of the Medical Service Maksym Melnyk, Head of the Medical Unit of the Donbas Special Purpose Battalion.
