An event marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence was held in Sokal, Lviv Oblast, with representatives of the Udachne community, the youth council, teachers, and children from the community participating as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”

Activities for Independence Day included a car parade, a ceremonial raising of the Ukrainian national flag, themed exhibitions, a concert program, workshops, and other cultural and patriotic events.

Children from the Udachne community, who arrived in Sokal after a vacation in Zakarpattia, took part in the joint celebration and thanked the Sokal community for its hospitality, support, and care.

One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of the results of the joint photo contest “My Ukraine—My Pride,” which the Udachne and Sokal communities organized on the eve of Independence Day. Contest participants shared their personal visions of Ukraine, its beauty, culture, and resilience.

Representatives of the Udachne community honored the creators of the best entries with valuable gifts and thanked all participants for their enthusiasm and creativity.

The joint celebration of Independence Day provided yet another opportunity for residents of the two communities to meet, socialize, and strengthen their partnership. Such initiatives, carried out as part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project, help communities support one another, implement joint cultural and youth initiatives, and maintain unity.
