It was these defenders who held their positions for nearly a year on one of the most challenging sections of the front line in the Donetsk region.
The head of Donetsk Oblast presented the soldiers with “Defender of Donetsk Oblast” badges, and from the brigade commander, they received medals “For Bravery in Battle” and “For Destroying Enemy Infantry.”
Every day, under constant fire and in extremely difficult conditions, the soldiers demonstrated resilience, professionalism, and an unshakable faith in Ukraine. They have already undergone medical treatment, are recovering, and will soon return to active duty.
“I spoke with the soldiers, as well as with the mother of one of them. It was a warm meeting and an important conversation—about motivation, needs, and support for the troops.
It is thanks to people like these that Donetsk Oblast is holding its ground, and the enemy cannot carry out its plans. It is a great honor for me to personally shake hands with each of them.
I thank Commander Hennadiy Kuts, who is always by his unit’s side and for whom the brigade is not just personnel, but brothers-in-arms.
We are proud. We support them. We remember the price paid for every day of our freedom,” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
