In 2026, UNHCR provided residents of the Donetsk region with approximately 43,000 comprehensive services, supported evacuation centers, and delivered generators and charging stations for resilience centers. With France’s support, a temporary social housing project for 1,083 IDPs was implemented in the city of Dnipro.
Meeting participants noted that needs are only growing. They discussed evacuation, preparations for winter, and support for over one million residents of Donetsk Oblast who were forced to flee to other regions.
“I specifically highlighted the need for backup equipment, generators, winter kits, and support for humanitarian hubs. It is especially important to step up assistance to people in frontline communities as winter approaches.
I thank France and UNHCR for their assistance, which is already saving lives today, helping people cope with the consequences of the war, and maintain ties with their homes,” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
