On August 29, the “Disc Golf Unites” veterans’ tournament took place in Kyiv, bringing together veterans from the Chasovoyarsk and Myronivka communities. The event was held as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities” on Defenders of Ukraine Remembrance Day.
The tournament was organized by the Chasovoyarsk City Military Administration in collaboration with the “Oseredok” Charitable Foundation, with support from Kyiv Disc Golf Fans.
The sporting event provided an opportunity for veterans to socialize, get to know one another, and spend time together in a friendly atmosphere. Participants competed in disc golf, which combined physical activity, teamwork, and recreation.
During the event, the veterans also observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of Ukraine’s defenders—both men and women—who died defending the country’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
After the tournament, a group lunch was organized for the participants, during which they could chat and share experiences. All participants received commemorative awards, and the three finalists were presented with certificates for membership in the Loft club.
Holding joint events as part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project helps foster partnerships between communities and creates additional opportunities to support veterans, promote their social integration, and encourage an active lifestyle.
