Thanks to the support of donors and the team behind the “A Dignified Life for Veterans” project at Ukrainska Pravda, veterans from Druzhkivka and Mariupol received accessible vehicles, retrofitted for manual control and equipped with a special space for a wheelchair featuring a hoist, ensuring that these veterans can move about comfortably, safely, and independently.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs of the Mariupol City Military Administration, a veteran from Mariupol had his documents confirming his right to drive a vehicle reinstated and received assistance in re-registering the vehicle.
In addition, a veteran from Druzhkivka is currently undergoing training at the “Barrier-Free Driving School” of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs in Kropyvnytskyi as part of a state program for the professional reintegration of war veterans, combatants, and individuals with war-related disabilities.
The Department of Veterans’ Policy of the Donetsk Regional State Administration will continue to provide support to veterans in the Donetsk region in cooperation with the military administrations of local communities.
Additionally, we would like to note that the “Defenders of Donetsk Region” chatbot on Telegram (t.me/ZakhysnykyDonechchyny_bot) is available to provide information and assistance to veterans and their families.
