From Idea to Grant: Antonina Rudyk’s Case of Modernizing a Service Station

Systematic state support and professional guidance from the employment service enable entrepreneurs to grow, create new jobs, and support local economies.

One such example is entrepreneur Antonina Rudyk from Dobropillia, who took advantage of the government grant program “Own Business.”

Since 2021, Antonina has been successfully working in the tire service sector, running her own workshop and building a steady customer base. However, expanding her business required additional resources and careful planning. After learning about the opportunities offered by the “Own Business” program, she turned to the employment service for консультацій support in preparing her business project. The analysis showed that there were no local businesses providing alloy wheel straightening services in the region, while the nearest service stations were located in Pavlohrad and Dnipro, creating additional demand.

To implement the idea of introducing a new service to the region, a well-grounded business project was developed. After successfully defending her business plan, Antonina received a grant of UAH 500,000.

However, the project was implemented under wartime conditions. Due to the security situation, Antonina had to relocate her business to Kramatorsk Raion. At this stage, the support of the employment service remained crucial, as specialists continued to provide консультацій assistance in fulfilling the grant obligations.

The grant funds, combined with her own investments, were used to purchase specialized equipment and materials. In addition, two new jobs for tire service technicians were created, contributing to employment in the local community.

Today, Antonina Rudyk continues to use the services of the employment service and is exploring new government support tools. In particular, she plans to take advantage of a program that compensates employers for hiring internally displaced persons. This will help optimize labor costs and allow her to direct resources toward further modernization of equipment and improving service quality.
