Representatives of the Donetsk Oblast Department of Agro-Industrial Development and Land Resources participated in the forum “Development of Humanitarian Demining and Strengthening of Mine Action Programs in Vulnerable Communities in Ukraine.”

The event was organized by the charitable organization “Coordination Humanitarian Center” with the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The forum served as an important platform for discussing challenges, coordinating efforts, and identifying systemic solutions in the field of humanitarian demining and restoring security in affected areas. The event brought together over 100 participants, including representatives of the government and communities, international organizations, donors, and mine action operators, to engage in dialogue on improving the effectiveness of responses to mine threats and supporting the long-term recovery of communities.

Over the course of two days, forum participants discussed how to make Ukrainian territories safer and strengthen support for people living near combat zones.

The forum’s panel discussions covered the following topics:

  • strategic approaches to humanitarian demining in Ukraine as a key prerequisite for ensuring security, environmental restoration, and economic development;
  • cooperation between local and international organizations in the field of humanitarian demining to enhance the safety of the civilian population and accelerate the clearance of affected areas from explosive hazards;
  • modern innovative approaches to humanitarian demining, including the use of digital technologies, automation, and new technical solutions to improve the efficiency, safety, and speed of clearing areas of explosive hazards.

The forum served as a platform for discussion and the exchange of experiences, as well as a space for building partnerships and developing joint solutions to address complex humanitarian challenges.
