Every year on October 1, International Day of Older Persons is celebrated, which is a manifestation of society's respect for the older generation and a symbol of unity and continuity between generations.
To celebrate International Day of Older Persons, humanitarian hubs/centers held warm gatherings with interesting conversations and themed events with rich programs such as “Autumn Marathon of Life,” “Warm the Heart with Kindness,” “Privileges of the Golden Age,” “Wisdom that Unites Generations,” “Warm Hearts for the Golden Age,” “Grandma's Gatherings,” and “Age is No Barrier to Communication.”
During the organized events, participants enjoyed musical greetings, an exciting game called “Guess the Melody,” poetry by Ukrainian authors, games, and contests that created an atmosphere of joy; lively dances that proved that age is just a number; and creative master classes that provided an opportunity to discover new talents.
Doctors talked about health preservation and disease prevention in old age, which was useful information for visitors, who actively joined the discussion.
The IDP support center “YaMariupol” (Zhytomyr) prepared humanitarian aid for Donetsk residents aged 60 and older: pillows and blankets.
The guests felt the warmth of hearts, had an interesting time, enjoyed pleasant conversations, and shared memories and life stories over tea.
