Children and youth of Donetsk region have the opportunity to join the all-Ukrainian creative competition “Stronger than Darkness”.
The competition is implemented by the public organization “Local History and Cultural Society “D.I.Ya.”” in partnership with the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
At the numerous requests of participants, parents and teachers, the deadline for accepting competition works has been extended until August 25, 2026 inclusive.
The goal of the competition is to support children and youth through creativity and to provide an opportunity to reflect on their own experience of life in war conditions. The organizers pay special attention to preserving the personal stories and voices of a generation of Ukrainians who are experiencing war, forced displacement, loss of home, life in frontline and border communities and adaptation to new conditions.
Contest participants can share their own thoughts, experiences and vision of the future through creative works. After all, despite difficult circumstances, children and youth continue to maintain strength, hope, dreams and faith in the future.
Of particular importance is the participation of young residents of the Donetsk region, who directly experience the consequences of the war. Their stories and creativity are an important part of the modern history of Ukraine and must be preserved for future generations.
The project also provides for recording interviews with participants, which will be included in the audiobook. This will make it possible to preserve not only creative works, but also the living voices of children and youth experiencing this historical period.
The acceptance of competition works continues until August 25, 2026 inclusive.
