On July 31, the Vuhledar City Military Administration organized the “Vuhledar City Territorial Community Open 8-Ball Billiards Tournament,” with the participation of war veterans, active-duty military personnel from the Vuhledar community, and internally displaced persons from the Donetsk region.
Representatives from the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Affairs and representatives from communities across Donetsk Oblast joined the tournament.
The tournament began with a moment of silence to honor the memory of the defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our state.
Throughout the competition, participants demonstrated athletic skill, endurance, and strength of character. An atmosphere of fair play, mutual respect, and support prevailed at the billiard tables, once again confirming the important role of sports in bringing veterans together and facilitating their social adaptation.
Holding such events contributes to the physical and psychological rehabilitation of war veterans and military personnel, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and strengthens the unity of communities in the Donetsk region.
