Ukrainian Statehood Day, which we celebrate every year on July 15, serves as a reminder of the more than 1,000-year history of our nation-building. This holiday is inextricably linked to the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus’-Ukraine and the commemoration of Prince Volodymyr the Great. It symbolizes the continuity of generations, the strength of our spiritual roots, and the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
For the residents of the “Bakhmut Psychoneurological Residential Care Facility,” who were forced to leave their native Donetsk region due to the war and find refuge in the hospitable Poltava region, this day became a special occasion to feel a sense of unity with the entire country.
To mark the holiday, a screening of a documentary film about the history of Ukraine’s formation was organized for the residents of the facility. The residents listened with interest as they learned about the key stages of our nation-building, prominent historical figures, and the centuries-long struggle for independence.
Such events help maintain a connection with their native culture, provide a sense of psychological comfort and unity, and strengthen faith in our shared peaceful future. We sincerely hope that very soon our residents will be able to return to their homes, where the much-desired calm, harmony, and a peaceful sky over the free Ukrainian land will once again reign. Each of us, in our own way, is bringing us closer to the victory we dream of, and these important moments of unity and mutual support are incredibly valuable on this difficult journey.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
