Recipients of pension and insurance benefits who are temporarily residing outside Ukraine may complete the identification process by submitting a document certifying that the individual is alive. Such a document is issued by the relevant Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad.
Along with the document certifying that the individual is alive, the following application must be submitted (in the form specified in Appendix 1 to the Procedure for Submitting and Processing Documents for the Assignment (Recalculation) of Pensions in Accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance,” approved by Resolution No. 22-1 of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine dated November 25, 2005).
The application and the document certifying that the individual is alive must be sent by certified mail or insured mail to the regional office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine where the pensioner is registered.

You can also submit the application and the document certifying that the individual is alive through the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s e-services portal (portal.pfu.gov.ua) using a qualified electronic signature (QES).
To do this, you must:
log in to your personal account on the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s electronic services web portal using a QES;
select the “Pension Benefits” section;
go to the “Making Changes to Your Pension File” subsection;
select the application type “Identification of a Pensioner (through a Diplomatic Mission)”;
fill out the application fields;
attach a scanned copy of a document certifying that the individual is alive.
The scanned copy of the document must match the original and be legible. It must clearly display the entire text of the document and its details.
Important: Pensioners who have left the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine must notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine that they are not receiving pension payments from the Russian Federation. However, this only needs to be done once. If you have already submitted this information, you do not need to do so again.
