Representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration took part in a seminar entitled “European integration processes and steps taken by the state. The path to Ukraine's spiritual sovereignty,” organized by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience in Kyiv.
The meeting discussed European integration tasks in the field of national minorities (communities) in Ukraine and regional initiatives for the protection and development of national minorities (communities). Particular attention was paid to the issue of freedom of conscience in Ukraine: ensuring the religious rights of citizens in the context of Russian aggression.
The speakers were representatives of the Office of the Council of Europe, the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, state authorities, public organizations of national minorities (communities), and the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience.
During the event, challenges and opportunities related to the rights of national minorities and European integration were discussed, as well as the formation of practical solutions to overcome these challenges, issues of church-state relations in the modern world, strengthening cooperation between the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience and representatives of regional state administrations in the field of religion, freedom of conscience, and observance of the rights of national minorities (communities) of Ukraine and indigenous peoples.
