Young inventor from Donetsk region among winners of InventorUA, a nationwide competition for youth scientific and technical projects

Published 08 December 2025 year, 17:00

The results of the second stage of the InventorUA All-Ukrainian Youth Scientific and Technical Projects Competition were announced at a ceremony.

A total of 214 participants from 21 regions of Ukraine reached the final stage. The teenagers presented 199 projects in five categories: "New Materials and Nanotechnologies," "Digital Technologies," "Sustainable Living Space," "Health Preservation and Disease Treatment," and "Applied Engineering Technologies."

The competition brought together those who seek to solve people's security problems, help the environment, and have progressive ideas for the development of technologies that can change the world for the better.

Five students from the Donetsk region participated in the final stage.

Among the winners was Kirill Kavdov, who took second place in the category "New Materials and Nanotechnologies" (senior age category).

Kirill is a member of the Applied Physics Club at the Donetsk Regional Small Academy of Sciences for Schoolchildren. The winner presented a project entitled "Functional model of a Stirling engine created from household waste," which he developed under the guidance of Olena Lyubymenko (club leader, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor at Donetsk National Technical University) and Viktoria Kovalenko (physics teacher).

The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using a Stirling engine as an autonomous energy source in conditions of limited resources—for charging drones, intermediate battery buffers, powering portable devices, or microcooling systems.

Congratulations to the participants, winners of the event, and teachers-mentors!

We are confident that the student projects presented in the InventorUA competition are your start in the world of science and invention!

We wish you continued success!
