On May 15, the Donetsk Regional Employment Service joined the National Job Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Fair), a large-scale event that took place simultaneously in all regions of the country. The online format ensured wide participation and convenience - employers, communities, educational institutions and job seekers met. The event brought together over 800 participants - both local residents and internally displaced persons seeking professional development and new career opportunities.
It is no coincidence that the Fair was held on May 15, the Day of Embroidery. The embroidered shirt is a symbol of our cultural heritage, identity, strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people. Just like this symbol, the Fair was a reminder of unity and aspiration for the future, where everyone has a chance to realize themselves - regardless of their circumstances or place of residence.
Particular attention was paid to attracting women to the labor market, in particular to areas traditionally considered “male”, as well as informing them about opportunities for vocational training in technical professions. Such initiatives help break down gender stereotypes and open up new horizons for women's employment.
The participants got acquainted with a wide range of current vacancies from various employers, from large enterprises to small businesses. Employment options were offered for people with different levels of education and experience. The Fair was attended by representatives of DTEK Pavlohradvuhillya PJSC, Donetsk Railways Regional Branch of Ukrainian Railways JSC, ROSHEN Confectionery Factory, MEGATEX LLC, Dobropillyavuhillya Mining, DTEK Dobropillya Central Processing Plant, Municipal Enterprise M.EKHAB, local entrepreneurs and others.
Specialists of the Kramatorsk branch of the SLC together with representatives of NGOs provided information on opportunities for women interested in entrepreneurship and employment. They discussed the conditions for receiving grants for starting their own business and vocational training. Many were inspired by the story of guest entrepreneur Olena Khatmullina, a business coach, finance and grantwriting consultant, and winner of the Ukrainian Donetsk Kurkul project, who shared her own journey to starting a business. Representatives of the Oleksandrivsk Professional Agricultural Lyceum presented their training facilities and invited women to learn the profession of tractor driver.
The fair, organized by the Pokrovsk branch specialists, has become not only a job search platform, but also a source of support, adaptation and social integration for residents of the region who have moved to safer regions of the country. The online format ensured effective interaction between employers, NGOs and the employment service, which allowed for comprehensive support of job seekers - especially women - in their professional development.
In addition, trainings were organized to enhance the professional capabilities of the Fair participants. During the events, they learned about business grant programs, improved their resume writing skills, and received advice on career planning using online employment services.
Just like an embroidered shirt that unites generations and stories on a canvas, the National Job Fair united the efforts of the entire country for a common goal - decent work for everyone.
