Published 03 June 2026 year, 09:00

Viktor Bryukhanov, a resident of Mariupol, was killed by a shell explosion on March 14, 2022, in the courtyard of his home on Fontanna Street. He was 72 years old.

“I saw the house on fire in the satellite images. My mom called on March 16 and told me that Dad was gone. There was shelling on March 14. Dad ran out into the yard and was killed instantly. The blast wave threw my father-in-law back. My mother and father-in-law wrapped Dad in a blanket. They dug a grave and buried him. The explosion also burned two cars and the garage, and the house was damaged,” said his daughter, Anastasia Tsvok.

Viktor Bryukhanov was born and raised in Mariupol. He was a mechanical engineer by profession. He was an entrepreneur. He designed and manufactured metal structures for residents of Mariupol and clients from the Donetsk region. He was a master of his craft.

Viktor Bryukhanov is survived by his wife Natalia, daughter Anastasia, and granddaughter Ksenia.

At 9:00 a.m.—a nationwide moment of silence. The Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Memorial platform: those killed by Russia remember the residents of Donetsk Oblast killed by Russians.
