The life of 9-year-old Bohdan Samofalov was taken by a Russian missile strike on the village of Rivne in Donetsk region.
On January 6, 2024, the enemy attacked the settlement with rockets. Bohdan was killed along with his grandmother, uncle, aunt, and his younger cousins — a boy and a girl.
Bohdan Samofalov was a third-grade student at Pokrovsk School No. 4. He loved riding his bike and dreamed of becoming a rescuer. He is remembered as an independent, intelligent, and loving son, grandson, and brother.
“He was very cheerful and positive. Like all kids, he loved playing outside with friends,” said his godmother, Anastasiia Serednia.
“Bohdan could be called a sunshine child. Always smiling and in a good mood. He did well in school and especially loved math. He was very gentle with his little sister, always sharing his toys and sweets,” added Bohdan’s teacher, Viktoriia Bondarenko.
Bohdan lived with his grandmother in the village of Rivne, part of the Myrnohrad community. For the Christmas and New Year holidays, his uncle, aunt, and their children came to visit. On January 6, 2024, they briefly stopped by Bohdan’s grandmother’s house to bring kutia and exchange holiday greetings. When the family gathered together, a Russian missile struck the house…
Bohdan is survived by his mother, father, sister, and other relatives. His father joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
