31-year-old Serhii Komisarov, call sign “Komisar,” was killed on February 3, 2024, near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. During a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries from a high-explosive fragmentation shell.
Serhii was born on June 30, 1992, in Myrnohrad. He graduated from the Donetsk Mining College, earning a qualification as an electrical mechanic. He worked in construction, repair, and metallurgy. He was talented at drawing and dreamed of taking up woodcarving. Most recently, he worked in Dnipro at Interpipe NTZ.
In December 2023, he joined the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He served as an assistant to a rifleman-grenade launcher operator.
“He was an incredible person with a big heart… even in difficult situations, he remained optimistic,” his beloved Hanna wrote.
Serhii was laid to rest in Myrnohrad.
He is survived by his parents, brothers, sister, son, and his beloved.
