National minute of silence

Published 13 September 2026 year, 09:00

Senior Sergeant Vladyslav Mykhailenko fought his last battle on June 9, 2024, near the village of Sokil in Donetsk Oblast. The warrior was 49 years old.

Vladyslav was born on November 11, 1974, in the city of Sloviansk. He graduated from local School No. 10 and subsequently completed his compulsory military service in Sevastopol as part of the Marines.

After demobilization, he moved to Dnipro, where he studied at the College of Automation and Telemechanics. There he met his future wife, Nadiia. Together they raised a son, who was also named Vladyslav.

"My son was very attentive and caring. He never forgot to offer congratulations on holidays and always gave flowers. He loved animals very much — he had a cat and a dog," said the defender's mother, Ninel Pavlivna.

In August 2022, during the full-scale war, Vladyslav voluntarily stood up to defend Ukraine. He fought in the 142nd Separate Infantry Brigade, holding the position of supply storekeeper in the material support platoon of an infantry battalion. Later, his unit was attached to the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

In 2023, during the battles for Bakhmut, Vladyslav sustained a wound. After receiving medical treatment, he returned to the front lines, defending Mykolaiv, Odesa, and his native Donetsk Oblast.

Vladyslav Mykhailenko was buried in Sloviansk.

At 9:00 AM — the national minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Heroes' Memorial platform honor the fallen defenders from Donetsk Oblast.
