Ukrainian serviceman Vladyslav Oryol, call sign “Oryol,” was killed in action while carrying out a combat mission in the settlement of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region on September 30, 2023. He was 19 years old.
Vladyslav was born in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. He studied at local School No. 11. In his free time, he loved sports, especially boxing and football.
A month after turning 18, Vladyslav signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior rifleman in the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. On April 8, 2022, during the Russian shelling of the Kramatorsk railway station, he assisted the territorial defense forces in evacuating the injured. He was awarded the “Veteran of War” badge.
His family, friends, and fellow soldiers remember him as a sincere, kind, open, fair, sociable, and hardworking person.
“My son Vlad was very brave. He loved life and wanted to live. At just 19, he was making plans for the future, but this war did not let them come true. I am proud of my son, his younger brother is proud of his brother, and his grandfather of his grandson,” said Maryna Kolbasova.
Vladyslav Yuriiovych was laid to rest in the settlement of Ivanivka, Kramatorsk district, on the Alley of Glory.
He is survived by his mother, brother, and grandfather.
At 9:00 a.m., a nationwide minute of silence is observed. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial of Heroes platform honor civilians of Donetsk region killed by Russian forces.
